The Green Standard Trust is a DAO governed land trust. The value of entrusted land supports our currency, the Green Standard Token (GST), which is Earth’s first currency backed by protected land.

Why We Exist

Climate change is the result of systemic deficiencies, with governments and big business continuously legislating for and supporting linear economic models. Economic linearity rewards waste, pollution and ultimately greed in a system whereby nature and the majority of people are discarded.

Any proposed solution to these issues must include an alternative systemic model.

Enter the Green Standard Monetary System – a digital reserve currency backed by the value of protected land, governed by a decentralised, democratised global community. Empowering nature regeneration on a global scale using a localised, community-driven approach to land stewardship.

This new economic model can make a proportion of the global financial system truly circular and regenerative. For us, GST DAO exits because it is necessary.
