6.4. System Overview

Within our system there are six active groups that make the system operate, below is a brief overview of each individual role within our system.

Group 1. GST Holders: Fund the acquisition of land and in return get GST which is backed by the value of that protected land. Other benefits of being part of our DAO include land-use related rewards or discounted goods and services, and potentially becoming shareholders once GSSs are minted.

Group 2. Corporations & Governments: A large concern for these institutions when sponsoring conservation or funding carbon credit projects is permanence of those projects. Within our system those projects will be on tenured land. They will receive higher quality carbon or nature credits because our model is designed for permanence. Also for governments that do not have a budget for such activities – they can reach their biodiversity targets at a much lower or even zero cost.

Group 3. Land Stewards: This group has access to land without the financial burden of a mortgage, set-lease or requiring an outright land acquisition, either personally paid for or via donation. In return for the removal of this significant barrier-to-entry, stewards will conserve and protect nature on held land.

Group 4. Local Communities: They will be central to our conversation projects, providing jobs, investment and a share of revenue for community projects. In exchange for supporting our projects our model must support them in multiple ways as these communities are vital for the success of our mission.

Group 5. Project Customers: One could include corporations and governments here should they be paying for specific goods or services. However, this group refers to retail customers who pay for goods and/or services on held land, such as ecotourism, agricultural produce or national park attendance etc.

Group 6. Shareholders: Proportional ownership in a company with the sole rights to contract DAO held land. And once GSS has been minted, following the token generation event, holders may receive dividends as previously discussed.

For a system to work efficiently there must be inherent incentives that drive actions towards a specific goal or purpose. In the flow below we have highlighted how all the major stakeholders discussed above are incentivised to act in a way that serves our special purpose and protects nature.

The Green Standard model can scale a global transition to regenerative business models with nature protection at its core.

Below shows how the system works between the six groups within a system that drives all stakeholders towards one common goal, despite having different incentives and taking different actions. This is the key behind the success of our model.
